Dear Friend,

We met in Augusta, Georgia - A chance meeting in a parking lot that changed our lives forever. We are complete opposites in almost every way, but it makes us a great team. Where one of us is weak, the other can pick up the slack. We love to travel and take one big vacation each year as well as several smaller ones. We are never ones to back away from adventure and love to spend time with our family and friends. After all this time together, we can often finish each other's sentences and we are truly each other's best friend. Some things we like to do as a couple are to go to the movies, the zoo, and on long walks. We both enjoy reading and also enjoy playing games. We love the beach and sports, anything to keep us moving and laughing. Basically we’re just a couple who likes to have fun no matter who we’re with or what we’re doing. We truly look forward to the day when we can complete our happy little family.

Paula was told as a young woman that conceiving children would not be easy, and after much heartache, she accepted not being able to have a child. We knew we were sure to be parents, just not in the traditional way. We always saw having a family as the next great adventure. So, as we turned toward adoption, our hearts and spirits fluttered with excitement.

In February, 2012 we learned that birth mother who was due in April selected US! We were thrilled! This lovely woman delivered a beautiful baby boy on April 21st. When I first met our birth mother I was overcome with emotion, but so thankful for the sacrifice she was making. It is true what they say, however motherhood comes to you, it is a gift. We are so blessed to have Patton and so thankful to his birth mother. I will never know Patton the way she knew him and she will never know him the way I will, but together, WE will be forever united.

Paula was raised in a very close-knit family and is the oldest of two. She was an amazing teacher for over 11 years, and has advanced to Team Lead and is now an Assistant Principal. She is adored by her students and admired by her fellow teachers. She has won numerous awards for her work in the classroom as well as her work within the community. Paula works as an educator because she truly cares for children, an observation that can quickly be made by anyone who has the chance to witness her. There’s never a dull moment and always a giggle waiting around the corner. Paula enjoys traveling, sporting events and spending time with family. She loves to work in the yard and has enjoyed decorating our new home.

Kevin is the youngest child with one older sister. He has a warmth and spirit that is contagious and is sure to light up any room. Kevin is a decorated soldier, with 3 tours of duty behind him. He serves his country faithfully with unwavering dedication. He is selfless, honorable and enjoys his work because of the challenges it provides. Kevin is a HUGE sports fanatic and a kid at heart. Kevin serves as the Brigade Senior Plt. Sergeant for his unit. Not only is he well respected, but he is a valuable asset to his company.

We look forward to our little family growing by two feet. We were so blessed to experience every “first” with Patton and we are eager for him to share his unique bond with a sibling. We want our children to have every opportunity in life including receiving a great education. We will raise our children in a loving, understanding and compassionate home. We want our children to grow to be happy. As parents we will teach our children the values of equality and acceptance of others. We are extremely excited to adopt another child, not only into our home but more importantly into our hearts.

We wish you all the best as you make the difficult decisions that you face. Even if we are not the right match for you and your baby, please know that you are in our hearts and we wish you success in your journey.

With Love and Understanding,
Kevin and Paula
