Dear Expectant Mother,

Hello! We can only begin to imagine all the thoughts and feelings that you are going through right now as you decide what is best for both you and your unborn child. We would love the honor of having the little life inside of you becoming our child. We want to give you an idea of what it would be like for your child to be a part of our family. We are Chris and Dianne and together we have a two-year-old son, Logan, who is the light of our lives. Since our wedding day, we have dreamed of having a warm and comfortable home filled with our children. It took a long time and lots of fertility treatments to become pregnant with Logan, and Dianne’s pregnancy was very high risk and another pregnancy would be just as dangerous.

Before our son was born, Dianne worked with special needs children as a school psychologist in a local school district and Chris taught 4th grade. Shortly after Logan’s birth, Dianne became a stay-at-home mom and Chris became a middle school math teacher as well as the leader of various extra-curricular activities.

We recently moved to a new house in a subdivision just outside our hometown. The streets are quiet and neighbors are friendly. Our son can play with other kids in the neighborhood as well explore the woods and frog ponds with us. Our house is two-stories with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Our favorite spot is the screened back porch that is nestled in the woods so we can watch deer, fox, squirrels, and birds wander in the evenings. We love that our new yard has plenty of space for gardening and playing sports. Here in the Midwest, we are blessed with all four seasons, which we love to enjoy outside. In the summer, Chris grills outside and Dianne prepares a lot of side dishes from the garden. In the fall, we visit apple orchards and pumpkin patches and have bonfires with friends. In the winter, we go sledding and build snowmen. In the spring, we plant our garden and get our flowers and other plants ready for the summer. We love spending time outside, including hiking with our dog, Mugsy.

Halloween through Christmas is our favorite time of the year! Packed into those two months are three major holidays, our wedding anniversary, and Logan’s birthday. We have a lot of family traditions, both old and new. We bake Christmas cookies, cut down and decorate a Christmas tree, cook a huge Thanksgiving feast, and a new tradition we have started is Star from Afar. Each night in the weeks leading up to Christmas, we hide a sparkly star for Logan to find in the morning. The Three Wise Men then move to that spot on their journey to find baby Jesus on Christmas night.

We enjoy traveling and it has become even more special with our child. It is amazing to see the joy and wonder on his face as he touches a sandy beach for the first time or sees the zoo animals. We also love to camp in cabins on hiking trips, and look forward to sharing all of this with your child as well.

We are blessed with a large extended family, most of which lives close by. Logan sees his grandparents a few times each week and his aunts, uncles, and cousins a few times each month. There are fifteen children under the age of 12 in our family right now!

Logan is so excited and ready to be a big brother and we are very anxious to grow our family through adoption.
