I know, kind of an odd way to start my letter, but here it is, an open, one sided conversation, to let you know a little more about me; hoping I might be the person you choose today to be a mom. We don’t yet know each other, but I can say, without a doubt, you are incredible! Let me tell you a few more details… but know, I can’t wait to hear about you too!!
I believe our life is a journey and what makes the journey are the people we meet along the way. ‘There will always be a reason you meet people. Either you need them to change your life or you’re the one that will change theirs.’ Could we be that life change for each other…?
There are things that I believe we just know that we want in this life and we refuse to give up on those things. Being a mom is one of those things for me, and adoption has always been in my heart. The birth of my youngest nephew left no doubt in my mind that motherhood was a dream for me. There is just something about walking into a room and his little voice squealing my name with such excitement, it melts my heart. The love that is felt for and from that little boy is unreal. If you were to choose me, you can count on me to put your child first, support them and, above all, unconditionally love them.
I have made it to a place in my life where I have a career, a house, and my “kids” (2 dogs and a horse), but yet life doesn’t feel complete. I am ready to take the next step to being a parent through adoption. There is a gift in raising, shaping and being a part of a child’s every day. Giving the things they need, supporting them, and yep, even telling them “no” sometimes. I am ready for all the joys and challenges parenting brings.
Choosing me would be choosing a life for your child that is a little slower paced. I’m not in a big city, but yet the area is full of opportunity. I live outside of town on 5 acres with my two labs, Moose and Sage, and my horse, Whiskey. Together we like to go on rides in the mountains or around the neighborhood on our country roads. During the summer you will find us outside working on the yard, expanding the landscaping and flower beds and looking after the garden, riding a bike or jogging around the neighborhood. When the days get shorter and the weather gets colder we spend our time indoors creating a new quilt, crocheting a new blanket, mastering a new recipe, baking a sweet treat or curled up in front of the fire enjoying a book or movie.
My girls (Moose and Sage), the big guy (Whiskey) and I would be honored to share our life adventures with your child. We would offer an environment enriched with Christian values, encouragement to be themselves, explore their sense of wonder, inspire them to believe and love them like there is no tomorrow. They will be surrounded and loved by an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins each one unique with their own zest for life.
You, my friend, are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you’ll ever know.
