Dear Expectant Mother,
As you carefully weigh your choices and options Ed and I prepare and wait patiently to welcome another baby into our homes, lives and hearts. Three years ago we were blessed to be chosen by our son's birth mother and everyday we are grateful to her for our amazing and beautiful little boy. Having gone through the adoption process with our son and being adopted myself (Andrea) we know how difficult of a decision this is. We are hoping that telling you a little about our story will give you a sense of ourselves and our family life.
Ed and I first met in high school when we were just 14 years old. I found his floppy hair and sense of humor amusing, while he says I stood out because I was so thin and had a pretty smile. Little did we know at that first meeting what an interesting journey life would have in store for us, looking back we wouldn’t change a thing.
While the following years were filled with tears, celebrations, and at times distance, we were always there for each other and 15 years from when we first met we were married. Marriage came easily and natural to us after having known each other so long. We are a united front that celebrate victories together and endure difficult times by leaning on each other. After our struggles with infertility we easily agreed that adoption would be how we would build a family together and began our journey, In 2014, we welcomed our incredible son Clinton into the world. The past three years have been a whirlwind full of happy memories, milestones, and laughter and while our hearts are full we feel like we have more love to give and memories to make. For us, having such close relationships with our mothers and sister's we know that strong, intelligent and kind women thrive in both of our families and we are confident that we could provide that same nurturing environment for our own baby girl.
Ed and I agree that a baby girl would truly complete the family and we look forward to spending quiet nights doing puzzles, weekly trips to the library and annual trips to the beach together. I look forward to quiet craft time and sharing my love for books and cooking and Ed looks forward to camping and hiking adventures.
Our son is smart, kind and strong and makes us so proud everyday. He has said that he also looks forward to "baby sister". He is kind and gentle with all of his friends little brothers and sisters and we know he will make an amazing big brother.
Hopefully, hearing a bit about our story has helped to give you a sense of the certainty and understanding that we have about adoption. We are so grateful to you for considering us to be the parents of your child and if chosen we promise that we will devote the rest of our lives to providing a loving and caring home filled with laughter and joy.
Ed, Andrea and Clinton
